While the ungoogled builds are a completely separate project. So the Void Linux Chromium package is the basic raw chromium builds. Just have to remember to pull/push using rsync. Passwords, can be easily synchronized by using rsync on the entire dot chromium directory between Linux platforms. Figured I was right about sync being disabled for chromium, until I ran into this build today!īookmarks is only one simple cross platform file, easily copied elsewhere. So, I uninstalled, wiped the Windows chromium local dir, reinstalled and now keeping sync disabled. See the following site, containing "sync" enabled Windows builds of chromium. Nope, recently installed a recent Windows 10 Chromium build, and has sync enabled. Far quicker, however a little more tedious.shrugs. I now use rsync for manual syncing bookmarks between all operating systems, and rsync for synchronizing the entire Chromium user profile between similar operating systems. syncing who knows what, probably my entire cat photo archive.) ![]() I just switched over the past month due to Chromium being so slow during start-up, obviously syncing in the background prior to starting. So I'm guessing, the packager(s) for Void Linux Chromium, are typically making an ungoogled version of Chromium? With the sanity of leaving secure Google DNS as a DNS option that can be manually enabled? I'm guessing they manually pushed patches/workarounds, re-enabling Google synchronizing. The following site shows the multiple recent builds with sync enabled for Chromium. Looking at the differences between Windows ungoogled and Windows sync enabled Chromium, looks like Void Linux Chromium still has some switchable essentials such as Google secure DNS, while Google sync is disabled/stripped.
